ObjectiveTo explore the effect of sputum expectoration with salt ironing on the Back-Shu acupoints in patients with COPD of Qi Deficiency of Lung and Spleen Syndrome.MethodIn-patients with COPD of Qi Deficiency of Lung and Spleen Syndrome were selected from the Second people Hospital Affiliated Fujian University of traditional Chinese medicine during November 2014 to December 2015.Sixty-six inpatients were randomly divided into the control group (33 samples) and the observation group (33 samples). The control group received conventional treatment and nursing; on the basis of the control group, the observation group with salt ironing on the back of the Bladder Meridian and Back-Shu acupoints, in other words, both sides of the Bladder Meridian and Back-Shu acupoints, such as Fei-shu, Ge-shu, Spleen-shu, Shen-shu, were ironed by the heated salt package, what were ironed repeated twice a day, about 25 minutes per time, a total of 14 days. C-reactive protein and Sputum PH value were examined at the pretest, the 7th day,the 14th day; and the COPD Assessment Test questionnaire were collected and recorded in the pretest and post-test so that evaluated the effect of sputum expectoration.ResultAfter the intervention,30 cases in the observation group completed the trial, and 30 cases had completed in the control group. Statistical analysis results were as follows:1 Compared to baseline informationCompared to Demographic data, Clinical characteristics data, the kind of Drug, as well as diet habits, there were no significant difference between two groups before intervention (P>0.05); CRP, sputum PH value, CAT scores were compared, there were no significant difference between the control group and the observation group (P>0.05); It showed that baseline information of two groups were comparable.During the intervention,Compared with treatment and nursing plan between two groups, the data no significant difference (P>0.05). It showed the adjustment of treatment and nursing plan of two groups were comparable.2 The level of serum C-reactive proteinBefore the intervention, the 7th day and the 14th day, CRP values were collected and analysised by Repeatitive measurement and analysis of variance. It showed that the main effects of time were statistically different (P<0.05); the main effect of intervention were statistically different(P< 0.05); the interaction effect of groups and time were statistically significant (P<0.05).3 The level of sputum PHBefore the intervention, the 7th day and the 14th day, sputum PH were collected and analysised by Repeatitive measurement and analysis of variance. It showed that the main effects of time were statistically different (P<0.05); the interaction effect of groups and time were statistically significant (P<0.05); while the main effect of intervention were no statistically different (P> 0.05).4 The change of CAT scoreCompared with pretest and post-test, both the observation group and the control group were significant difference (P<0.05), After the intervention, the score of the observation group was (16.27±4.877)higher than the control group (13.23±4.897), the two groups were compared, there were significant difference (P<0.05).5 Security AnalysisThe 7 cases of adverse events occurred in the study, there were 4 cases happened in the control group and 3 cases in the observation group, all of which had no relationship with the thearpy of salt iron throught judgement.Through the safety analysis, there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05), which showed that the safety of the research plan was well.Conclusions1. Salt iron therapy on the back Shu-acupoints can reduce the serum CRP value to some extent.2. Salt iron therapy on the back Shu-acupoints can change the level of PH as time went on.3. Salt iron therapy can improve the quality of life of patients.4. The advarse events is nothing to do with salt iron therapy, it suggests that the therapy is safety. |
