| BackgroundEsophageal carcinoma is one of the most common malignant tumor in the world, and enteral nutrition therapy is widely recognized as the main way of nutritional support.ObjectiveTo explore the advantages and disadvantages of nose-intestine nutritional tube and jejunostomy tube in esophageal cancer patients after oesophagectomy to provide clinical reference for patients with esophageal cancer and other gastrointestinal tumors.Methods84 esophageal cancer patients undergoing oesophagectomy from a department of Thoracic Surgery in a 3 Grade-Ⅲ Level-A hospitals in Shandong Province were randomly selected as subjects during October 2014 to November 2015. They were randomly divided into nose-intestine group and jejunostomy group. After admission, researchers got the general condition of the patient. The results of routine blood were obtained on the first and seventh day after operation to record the albumin. Also, the researchers got the body weight on the day before operation and the seventh day after operation. Subjective comfort, unplanned extubation, postoperative complications, gastric drainage, a gastric tube extubation time and hospital stay were compared between the nose-intestine group and jejunostomy group.ResultsA total of 84 patients were investigated and 84 (97.67%) questionnaires have been got. And the effective questionnaires were 84(100%). The two groups excluded one patient, respectively.Between the two groups, there was no significant difference in gender, age, education level, family income and other basic information. Comparison of the two groups of patients indwelling pipeline comfort:there are significant differences in four areas (throat pain, the degree of thirst, nausea and vomiting, ear pain) (P<0.01). The comfort level of jejunostomy-tube was better than nose-intestine nutritional tube. Comparison of preoperative weight, post weight and the difference of preoperative and post weight in the two groups, the results showed no significant difference (P> 0.05). Comparison of preoperative albumin, post albumin and the difference of preoperative and post albumin in the two groups, the results showed no significant difference (P> 0.05). There was no difference between the two groups in the gastric drainage in seven days after operation. The average time of indwelling gastric tube was (9.93±1.44) and (10.51±2.12) days in the two groups. There was significant differences between the two groups(t=7.11, P<0.01). Hospitalization time:the average discharge was (19.72±3.23) and (21.46±5.05) days in the two groups. There was no significant differences between the two groups(t=0.719, P> 0.05). There was significant difference in unplanned extubation and pulmonary complication between the two groups (P<0.05)ConclusionDifferent enteral feeding tubes have their own advantages and disadvantages. Compared with nose-intestine nutritional tube, jejunostomy tube could decrease the incidence of throat pain, nausea and vomiting to improve patient comfort, which could reduce the incidence of pulmonary complications. |
