Short-term Efficacy Of Addition Of Yutan Capsules To Standardized Physical Therapy In Treatment Of Lower Limb Spasticity After Spinal Cord Injury

ObjectiveTo observe the short-term efficacy of addition of Yutan capsules to standardized physical therapy in treatment of lower limb spasticity,F wave of electromyogram (EMG) of the tibial nerve,to study the Yutan capsule combined with rehabilitation training on lower limb spasticity in patients with spasticity after spinal cord injury, and to provide reference for the clinical curative effect of Yutan capsule in treating lower limb spasticity after spinal cord injury.MethodsUsed the research methods of single blind prospective randomized control. The selection of case:46 cases meeting the inclusion criteria of lower limb spasticity after spinal cord injury were randomly divided into the observation group (Yutan capsule group) and the control group(conventional therapy group).Therapies:The two groups were all received conventional rehabilitation therapy,the observation group took Yutan Capsule on the basis of conventional rehabilitation therapy.Yutan capsule taking method for a 1.75g,3 times a day, a total of 4 weeks of treatment,Rehabilitation training 1 times a day,5 days a week, a total of 4 weeks of treatment.At the observation time points of before treatment,2 weeks,4 weeks(at the end of the treatment),after a month of treatment, the two groups were evaluated.Modified Ashworth spasticity scale(MAS) and Composite spasticity scale (CSS) were used to evaluate spasticity.The temporal dispersion and average occurrence rates of F waves were used to evaluate recovery of nerve function.Results1 Spasticity:At the time points of 2 weeks,4 weeks(at the end of the treatment),after a month of the treatment,the MAS grades,CSS indexes,MAS improved efficacy were significantly improved(P<0.05), the two groups are better than before the treatment.When compared with the control group,there had no differences(.P> 0.05) of the scales of the observation group at the time point of 2 weeks.When it came to the time points of 4 weeks,after a month of treatment.the differences were significant(P<0.05).2 F-waves:The dispersion and the average time rate of occurrence of the F-waves of the two groups in the two weeks of treatment compared with before treatment, the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05).At the time points of 4 weeks(at the end of the treatment),after a month of treatment,the temporal dispersion and average occurrence rates of F waves were less than that before the treatment.the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There had no differences(P>0.05) between the two groups at the time point of 2 weeks,while,the differences were significant(P<0.05) at the time point of 4 weeks,after a month of treatment.ConclusionBoth of Yutan capsule combined with rehabilitation therapy and single rehabilitation can relieve lower limb spasticity in patients with spinal cord injury, compared with the single rehabilitation, Yutan capsule combined with rehabilitation therapy has better effect in relieving spasm.
