In this paper, the chemical constituents of the root of Anthriscus sylvestris (L.) Hoffm. were investaged. The ethanol extract of Anthriscus sylvestris were obtained by three methods, respectively. Then the ethanol extract was suspended in water, and was extracted with petroleum ethher and ethyl acetate. The petroleum ether and ethyl acetate solubles were isolated by silica gel, RP-C18 column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 and semi-preparative HPLC. The structures of the isolated twelve compounds had been identified by HR-ESI-MS,1H NMR,13C NMR,2D NMR, IR. Compared with the known compounds, they were identified as:β-Sitosterol (1), (-)-Anthricin (2), Isoanthricin (3), Stigmasterol (4), Anthriscinol (5), Anthriscinol ethyl ether (6), Anthriscusin (7), a-Angeloyloxylatifolone (8), Anthriscinol methyl ether (9),3,4-Methylenedioxy-5-methoxy benzaldehyde (10), Anthriscusin I (11), 2-Butenoicacid,2-methyl-4-[[(2Z)-2-methyl-1-oxo-2-buten-1-yl]oxy]-,(2E)-3-(7-meth oxy-1,3-benzodioxol-5-y 1)-2-propen-1-yl ester, (2Z)-(12). Compound 6 is a new structure.In addition, the antitumor activities of the compound 2,5-10 were tested against PC 12, HT29, PANC-1 and B16 cell lines by MTT in vitro. And the antitumor activities of the compound 6 were 158.13 μg/mL,159.27 μg/mL,113.51μg/mL, 556.40 μg/mL, respectively.
