Hypernasality was one of the problem which made the cleft palate patients words are not clear, communication was not smooth. An effective assessment was very important. It’s means whether the cleft palate patients can get speech training accurately. The evaluation of hypernasality can be divided into subjective assessment and objective assessment. The subjective assessment had a high requirement on the evaluators, and the objective evaluation had certain limitation,because it often using single parameter.So,both at home and abroad is becoming more and more attention to the more simple and effective objective parameters model, tried to pass it to evaluate the degree of hypernasality. In this article, starting from the acoustic parameters, through three series of research, gradually established and verified a discriminant equation of hypernasality.Study one:Extract sensitive acoustic parameters of cleft palate of hypernasality. (a)This paper preliminary combed the acoustic parameters related to the hypernasality,including three aspects:breathing, phonation and resonance. (b)By comparing 3-14years of the 30 cleft palate children of hyper-nasality and 30 normal children’s acoustic parameters, got 10 parameters which can distinguish between normal and hypernasality. (c)Through the sensitivity experiment, from 10 different parameters, finally got four sensitivity parameters, which are MPT, the 0.5k-1 kHz energy concentration ratio of /i/,the 3k-4kHz energy concentration ratio of /i/ and MNS. Then,through correlation experiment, we found a high correlation between the 0.5k-1kHz energy concentration ratio of /i/ and the 3k-4kHz energy concentration ratio of /i/. In the end,three sensitive acoustic parameters are retained,which are MPT, the 3k-4kHz energy concentration ratio of /i/ and MNS.Study two:Established and Verify the discriminant equation model of cleft palate of hypernasality. The model was established in the discriminant equation, Equation model:Y0=-17.531+0.833XMPT+0.569Xi(3k.4k)+0.514XMNSY1=-19.880+0.006XMPT+0.595Xi(3k-4k)+0.768XMNSY2=-23.824+0.473XMPT+0.354Xi(3k-4k)+0.906XMNSY3=-21.854-0.216XMPT+0.409Xi(3k-4k)+923XMNSDiscriminant equation model was established by 65 participants. The overall accuracy of discriminant equation was 73.8%. The model was validated by 10 subjects, got the consistency of the discriminant equation model and the subjective assessment was 70%.Study three:Clinical application of the discriminant equation model of cleft palate of hypernasality. Experiment chooseed a 4-year-old Ⅱ degree of cleft palate children. Using the discriminant equation to evaluate the degree of hypernasality both preoperative and postoperative. Found the consistency of the discriminant equation model and the subjective assessment was 100%. And further proved the validity of this model.
