Study Of The Different Segmental Mutifidus Muscle Change In Degenerative Lumbar Spondylolisthesis Patients By MRI

Objective:To compare among the different segmental mutifidus muscle change in degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis patient by MRI and analyze the correlation between the change and degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis.Methods:Selected 88 patients with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis,6 cases of L3 slipped,62 cases of L4 slipped(53 cases of â… slipped,9 cases of slipped),20 cases â…¡of L5 slipped(16 cases of â… slipped,4 cases of slipped).There were 24 males and 64 â…¡females,with the age between 45 and 65 years old,at the same time,selected 20 asymptomatic volunteers,5 males and 15 females with the age between 45 and 65 years old.There were no difference between the gender,the age and the BMI in all measured objects.All patients were given the Oswestry disability index(ODI).To measured and calculated the ratio of the lean mutifidus muscle cross sectional area to gross mutifidus muscle cross sectional area(LCSA/GCSA) in all cases by MRI.To analyze all data between all patients and normal control group with independent sample t-test,so as between different degree in L4 slipped patients.By using variance analysis to compare the same segment of slipped vertebrae whether there was a difference between the data,whether there was a difference between different slipped vertebrae in the same segment.Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the data in the same slipped vertebrae.Results:The data of all degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis patients with differences between the normal control group(P<0.05).There were differences between different degree in L4 slipped patients.The L4 and L5 slipped vertebrae patients showed difference in different segments(P<0.05,there were difference between slipped and no-slipped segments),there were no difference in L3/4 segment in all patients(P>0.05),another segments showed difference(P<0.05).The L4 and L5 slipped vertebrae patients showed significant correlation between with no-slipped segment and slipped segment.Conclusion:The multifidus muscle of degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis patients would degeneration.In the case of age,BMI and clinical symptoms of the same,the most degeneration is the multifidus muscle of slipped segment,it is probably one of the reasons cause the spondyolisthesis,and the no-slipped segment can therefore occur degeneration.
