Lumbar disc hemiation(LDH)refers to the lumbar disc degeneration, lumbar bone hyperplasia, degeneration of intervertebral disc annulus fibrosus, when uneven force, nucleus pulpous protrusion, irritation or compression of the caudae quina nerve or spinal nerve, cause nerve root edema, microcirculation disorder, which occurs in the lumbar and leg pain sensory disturbance, a clinical syndrome. The disease occurs in 30 to 60 years of manual workers or the usual lack of exercise, clinically to L4—L5, L5~S1 intervertebral disc herniation rate was highest in. The clinical treatment of LDH method at home and abroad is varied, but the clinical curative effect is difficult to determine, and there are certain recurrence rate. LDH is a clinical common disease, frequently—occurring disease, for human health andnormal daily life has brought great inconvenience, therefore to seek the best treatment, improve patient’s quality oflife hasbecome the focus of the medical profession. Objective: Compare the efficacy of superficial fasciotomy using micro-acupotomy and traditional acupuncture in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation. Methods: According to the principle of random distribution, according to the order of signing the informed, will meet the inclusion criteria of 60 patients with LDH were randomly divided, divided into the treatment Group 30 cases and control group of 30 cases. Patients in the treatment group was treated with superficial fasciotomy in the waistã€hip and leg,1 times three days,4 times for a cycle, a total of 1 cycles. The traditional acupuncture was used in the control group,1 times a day,5 times a week,10 times for a cycle, a total of 1 cycles. A Visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were used to evaluate the efficacy of two approaches in 1 cycle follow-up.Results:All patients were followed up for at least 1 cycle. The VAS scores were decreased in both group after treatment first and after 1 cycle; and ODI scores were decreased in both group after one-cycle treatment and the difference is statistically significant (allP<0.05).Moreover, patients treated with superficial fasciotomy had better outcome, as compared to those treated with traditional acupuncture(P<0.05). In terms of efficacy:the total effective rate was 94.3% in the treatment group, the control group was 83.3%(P<0.05).Conclusion: While both superficial fasciotomy and traditional acupuncture therapy can effectively relieve the back and leg pain and improve the lumbar vertebrae function in patients with lumbar disc herniation, superficial fasciotomy has better clinical outcome as compared to traditional acupuncture therapy. |
