Objective:This study was to investigate anxiety psychology and its influencing factors in patients with dentition defect undergoing implant restoration. To understand the status of anxiety in patients with oral implant, analysis its influencing factors, and to investigate the correlation between anxiety and postoperative pain of oral implant patients. We hope that this research can provide clinical basis for reduce dental anxiety and psychological nursing, and also provide advice for health education and health care measures. Method:300 patients undergoing implant restoration were asked to administer a questionnaire which composes of general information, Modified Dental Anxiety Scale, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Visual Analogue Scale of pain, and the related factors of dental anxiety questionnaire. All data were analyzed by statistical package for social science(SPSS19.0). Statistical methods included descriptive analysis, one-salmple t-test,one way Anova,Spearman correlation, then analyise and discusse the results. Result:(1)In this study, the final effective sample were 284 cases, 154 cases were male, 130 female. Age range 18~81 years, the average age was 46.62±14.08 years; 45~59 year-old patients accounted for the largest proportion, accounting for 39.44%.(2)In this study, the mean value of DAS was 10.39±2.86; Scoring range 4~18 points; the subjects which DAS≥13 accounted for 24.6%.(3)Multiple regression analysis results show that gender, education level, family payment ability and residence had influence on DAS scores.(4)The top factors that affected the level of anxiety in the patients were: pain, previous unpleasant dental experiences, worry surgical trauma, injectable anesthetic, more number of implants, medical expenses.(5)The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that VAS was positively correlated with TAI, the results were statistically significant(p<0.05, r>0.6). Conclusion:(1)Dental anxiety are common in patients who have been investigated, and the anxiety of most patients is moderate or low level.(2)Factors that affect dental anxiety were gender, educational level, family payment ability and residence.(3)Dental event related to the degree of anxiety in patients were: pain, previous unpleasant dental experiences, worry surgical trauma, injectable anesthetic, more number of implants, medical expenses.(4)Preoperative trait anxiety level can predict the degree of postoperative pain.
