| Background and Object:Laryngeal papilloma (LP) is the most common benign tumor in the throat of the children, which is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV6 and 11 type are the major pathogens. Presently, There are still less clinical study about the HPV infection and the immune function of peripheral blood when the children suffer from primary laryngeal papilloma. The purpose of this study is to analysis the relationship of HPV infection and immune function of peripheral blood in children with primary laryngeal papilloma.Methods:HPV-DNA were detected by fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction assay, the change of serum immunoglobulin (IgG, IgA, IgM, IgE), cytokines (IL-2, IL4, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-a, IFN-y) and the percentage of T cell subsets (CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+) were determined,30 healthy children were included as control group during the same period. To analysis the relationship of HPV infection and immune function of peripheral blood in children with primary laryngeal papilloma. Results:Detection of HPV-DNA were positive in observed group, and HPV 6/11 were identified. In terms of serum immunoglobulins, the level of serum IgG, IgA, IgM and IgE in observed group had no significantly different with those in control group (P>0.05); The correlation coefficient was -0.336 between the viral load and the onset time, P<0.05. In terms of T cell subsets, the percentage of CD3+ and CD4+ in observed group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05); In terms of cytokines, the level of IL-4, IL-6, TNF-a, IFN-y and the ratio of IFN-γ/IL-4 were significantly increased (P<0.05) compared to control group.Conclusions:1. HPV6 and 11 type was most common pathogens in children with laryngeal papilloma; a fist attack usually occurred before four years old with HPV11 infect.2. The viral load was negatively correlated with the onset time.3. The change of cellular immunity might be caused by the infection of HPV in children with primary laryngeal papilloma and humoral immunity had no significantly change; the level of cytokines were increased, especially the Thl-like cytokines. |
