Objective:By observing the clinical effects of acupotomy combined with strength training on knee osteoarthritis.Analysed knee joint function improvement and treatment effect of patients. To dicuss the knee osteoarthritis pathogenesis and mechanism of acupotomy therapy. Methods:This study included 60 standard patients and divided into two groups, treatment group 30 cases and control group 30 cases. The treatment group used acupotomy combined with strength training, the control group only used strength training. The VAS score and Lysholm score were assessed before treatment and after four weeks of treatment in two groups separately. Results:(1) Before treatment, comparison of knee joint function in the two groups, there was no statistically significant difference(P > 0.05).(2) After treatment, the VAS score of treatment group and control group patients were significantly decreased, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);the Lysholm score of treatment group and control group patients were significantly increased, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05). After treatment between two groups, the VAS score of the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group, Lysholm score of the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).(3)In treatment group, there were 12 patients which efficacy was excellent(40%), 12 patients which efficacy was good(40%), 5 patients which efficacy was medium(16.7%); While the control group, there were 6 patients which efficacy was excellent(20%), 7 patients which efficacy was good(23.3%), there were 13 patients which efficacy was excellent(43.3%). After treatment, the efficacy of two groups were analyzed by chi-square test efficacy of the overall difference was significant(P <0.05), showed that the treatment group than the control group. Conclusions:Acupotomy with strength training can significantly improve knee function in patients with more effective than strength training alone. Acupotomy technique can short treatment time, relieve pain and improve knee range of motion, less adverse reaction, worthy of clinical application.
