The Development And Evaluation Research On The Scale Of Medical Professionalism

Object The research’s aim is to develop a medical professionalism scale with high reliability and validity, which can provide a good measure tool for Chinese health administrative organs and hospitals.Using the scale we can measure, monitor, evaluate and do the better decision to improve the medical professionalism.Method According a systematic review of medical professionalism, we use the "Chinese Medical Declaration" to build the conceptual model,with six evaluation dimensions.To build the project pool we use those methods,such as systematic review,interviews, deductive inference, then we follow the principles to filter the scale. And we determine the measure level and assessments.After the pre-tested and improve the scale,we do the large survey,and evaluate the results with discrimination, dispersion, correlation analysis, factor analysis.All that proves the scale is good.Results 1)The scale is self-rating scale with closed-ended questions,total of the scale is 36 entries,6dimentions,total score is 36-180 points.2)The re-test reliability is 0.895,attitude scale is 0.761,behavior one is 0.832;Cronbach’sα0.868 and 0.871,content validity is 0.96,the correlate analysis is various.The study applicate the factor analysis to extract six common factors, each entry in the respective load factor values is above 0.4; And the different titles physician significant presence on the score of the medical professionalism.Conclusions This study’s single entry of medical professionalism has good distinction, sensitivity, independence, representation, and the whole scale has good internal consistency reliability, test-retest reliability, content validity, construct validity and distinction. The scale can be used to survey, evaluation and monitor medical professionalism, and the research is meaningful to improve the professionalism with some applied and theoretical value.
