The Clinical Application Of Hyaluronic Acid Filler In Nasolabial Folds Soft Tissue

[Object] Hyaluronic acid is considered as an ideal tissue filling agent, which has been widely used to improve facial rejuvenation in many countries. In recent years, the application of hyaluronic acid filler in facial rejuvenation, nose&chin augmentation is rising year by year. The main feature of aging is deepening nasolabial folds on midface, which is caused by volume loss of soft tissue in varying degrees. By clinical study and patients’ self-evaluation, the safety, efficacy and complications of the hyaluronic acid were evaluated.[Method] 19 cases with aging appearance in the midface and 4 cases who required to improve the shape of nasal and chin were enrolled in this experiment, all the patients were obtained from Department of Plastic Surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. Hyaluronic acid (Biohyalux) has been injected to the nasolabial grooves and nasal & chin.38 nasolabial wrinkles were evaluated before injection, immediately after injection,4 weeks and 6 months after injection by using WSRS (wrinkles classification of severity rating scale) method. Patients self-evaluation was performed by using GAIS (global aesthetic improvement scale) method at immediately,4 weeks and 6 months after injection, respectively. The adverse reactions and complications were recorded. In addition,4 patients with nose & chin filled were observed.[Result] Before injection, immediately after injection,4 weeks and 6 months after injection, the mean WSRS of 38 nasolabial folds were 3.0±1.162,1.58±0.599, 1.58±0.599,1.97±0.915, respectively. The global aesthetic improvement scale of immediately,4 weeks and 6 months after injection were 1.76,1.55,1.13, rspectively. There were no serious adverser reaction and unusual complication. The appearance of 4 patients with poor shape nose and chin were improved significantly after hyaluronic acid injection.[Conclusion] Hyaluronic acid gel could be used to increase the volume of soft tissue in the middle maxillofacial, which could adjust facial nasolabial grooves, make facial rejuvenation, and improve nasal&chin contour. It is safety in some degree in middle maxillofacial cosmetic injection.
