Case Report Of Restoring Distal Extension Denture With Custom Impression Tray Making Selective Tissue Placement Impression Method

Background: People’s attention to health of denture is improving with society’s progress and the development of oral technology.There is rapidly increasing demand of oral cavity repair. The extension removable partial denture is common in clinic.Wang yanyi [1] study of 1197 cases of elderly repair treatment patients draw the conclusion that 19.51% of the patients is distal extension denture. It exists much problems such as damage of abutment tooth and pain of Alveolar ridge mucosa.Instability of distal-extension absence of patients with removable partial denture leads the reducing of adaptability, and damage the remaining mucosa and mouths tooth and soft tissue.Objection: Investigation of restoring distal extension denture with custom impression tray making selective tissue placement impression.Materials and methods: 7 patients who are distal extension absence were collected from 2014 to 2015 in dalian medical university. Restoring distal extension denture with custom impression tray making selective tissue placement impression.Evaluating the denture from the edge of the impression, the edge of the gypsum model extension,the patient’s chewing efficiency and the number of return visit.Results: For patients with distal-extension absence, making of custom impression tray using selective pressure of removable partial denture is better in the edge of the impression, the masticatory efficiency of patients and the number of return visit.Conclusion: Using custom impression tray making selective tissue placement impression to restore distal extension denture can improve the coefficient of chewing,reduce the times of return of visit and damage of membrana mucosa.It can improve the instability of extension removable partial denture.
