| Objective:This research is focused on the memory and it’s quality life of chronic schizophrenic patients in long-term hospitalization, to explore the relationship between quality life and memory, find the influence factors of memory and quality life of chronic schizophrenic patients in long-term hospitalization.Methods:This study selected 60 chronic schizophrenic patients in long-term hospitalization in random from Dalian Social Welfare Institute as the research objects, and 60 schizophrenic patients in short-term hospitalization from the Seventh People’s Hospital of Dalian City were selected according to similar age and sex as a control group. Using Schizophrenic patients Quality Life Scale(SQLS) and Wechsler Memory Scale to evaluate the quality of schizophrenic patients and the memory of patients.Results:I. The memory of schizophrenic patients in long-term hospitalization1.Compared with schizophrenic patients in short-term hospitalization,the marks of the total MQ, long time memory and picture, connects in mind of short time memory are all less, the differences are more significant( p<0.01).2.No significant difference of memory scoring between chronic schizophrenic patients of different gender(p>0.05).3.The distribution of memory quotient(MQ)is related with education, the higher the educational level, the higher MQ, the differences are more significant( p<0.01).4.No significant difference in 3 age groups of 4 different MQ groups(p>0.05).5.No significant difference in 3 marriage groups of 4 different MQ groups(p>0.05).6.Compared with more than 20 years patients and less than 20 years, two items included recognition and connects in mind have significant difference(p<0.05).7.There are significant difference of MQ, summation, recognition, connects in mind between positive subtypes and negative subtypes of chronic schizophrenic patients.Memory score of positive subtype of schizophrenic patients is higher than the negative subtypes schizophrenic patients; the comparative differences between two terms are statistically significant.II The life quality of schizophrenic patients in long-term hospitalization1. With the extension of hospitalization time, the quality of life of patients with schizophrenia relative decline.2. The quality of life difference in patients with different gender was not significant.3.The difference of motivation/energy of schizophrenic patients with different age groups was significant.4. The difference of motivation/energy subscale and symptoms/side reactions subscale of schizophrenic patients with different education levels was significant(P<0.01).5. The difference of symptoms/side reactions subscale evaluation of schizophrenic patients with different marital status was significant.6. The course of disease is one of the important factors that influence the life quality in schizophrenics, the difference of the total average score of SQLS,motivation/energy subscale, symptoms/side reaction subscale of schizophrenic patients with different course of disease was significant(P<0.01).III. The comparison of quality of life of schizophrenic patients with different Wechsler Memory Scale marks Compare with Wechsler Memory Scale scores of schizophrenic patients and related factors of quality of life of schizophrenic patients, Both of total score of quality of life and motivation/energy scale, schizophrenic patients of MQ > 85 are less than MQ ≤85 schizophrenic patients, there were significant differences(P<0.05), the higherscore of Wechsler Memory Scale, the whole quality of life the better in schizophrenic patients, and improved memory function of patients with schizophrenia have a positive impact on activities of daily living ability.Conclusions:1. Memory of schizophrenic patients is significant impaired, compare with schizophrenic patients in short-term hospitalization or repeated hospitalization,Chronic schizophrenic patients in long-term hospitalization have more memory impairment. The higher the education level, the higher MQ. The longer illness period, the more obvious memory impairment in patients with schizophrenia.2. Memory score of positive subtype of schizophrenic patients is higher than the negative subtypes schizophrenic patients. The longer illness period, the worse of quality of life. The psychosocial subscale evaluation results, older schizophrenic patients are better than young patients; Higher education level, better life quality;the life quality of divorced schizophrenic patients is quite worse; Longer time with the disease, worse the life quality.3. The higher score of Wechsler Memory Scale, the whole quality of life the better in schizophrenic patients, and improved memory function of patients with schizophrenia have a positive impact on activities of daily living ability. |
