Objectives:To compare the efficaly difference of Ilizarov bone transporttechnique and LCP with iliac graft in treating infected nonunion of longtubular bone and analyzed the intraoperative and postoperative data toprovide the basis for the choice of surgical procedure in treating infectednonunion of long tubular bone.Methods:19patients with infected nonunion of long tubular bone between Jul,2010and Oct,2014in department of orthopedic traumatology of TheFirst Hospital of Jilin University were reviewed and analyzed. There are13males and6females aged24~58y.The period of infectious nonunionwas ranging from8m to30m. The follow-up duration was ranging from12m to22m. The reasons of injury included traffic accident(13/19),tumble injury(2/19),crushing from heavy(2/19) and falling fromheight(2/19). There are10cases in the tibia and9cases in the femur.Eight patients were treated by Ilizarov bone transport technique with theorthfix external fixator of single arm (the experimental group), elevenpatients were treated by LCP with iliac graft (the control group). All the patients were achieved follow-up,the collected data were analyzedretrospectively. The main outcome measures included hospitalizationdays,cumulative operation blood loss, part weight bearing time, infectedcontrol rate,hospitalization cost, re-operation rate, AAOS scores. Thecorrelative data was measured and analyzed by SPSS17.0Results:The Experimental Group, hospitalization days:35.25±9.57d、cumulative operation blood loss:1348.12±226.05ml、part weight bearingtime:1.91±0.36m、infected control rate:87.5%、hospitalization cost:70795.87±20385.53RMB、re-operation rate:0%、the degree of bonedefect:4.50±1.41cm、 average number of surgical:3.00±1.07、 AAOSscores comparison:84.75±1.67; The Control Group, hospitalization days:48.27.40±16.45d、cumulative operation blood loss:2465.45±666.31ml、part weight bearing time:2.78±0.58m、infected control rate:72.7%、hospitalization cost:90204.89±25359.46RMB、re-operation rate:27.3%、the degree of bone defect:2.55±1.75cm、 average number ofsurgical:4.36±1.57、 AAOS scores comparison:80.45±3.30. Thedifference between the two groups is statistical significance (p<0.05).The experimental group was better than that of the control group in theabove aspects.Conclusion:1.The treatment of Ilizarov bone transport technique in infected nonunion of long tubular bone have obvious advantage and betterinfected control rate.2.The Ilizarov bone transport technique have less requirment for thecondition of soft tissue, could protect the soft tissues to promote therecovery effectively, and provide guarantee for the rehabilitation of limblength.3.The experimental group doesn’t have sufficient cases and it isnecessary to improve the statistical data for further research.
