Chinese Patent Drug Database Constrution And Prescrition Rule Research

Prescriptions is the main means that applied in the clinical practices, therefore how to use prescription data effectively to make research on composition rules becomes a critical problem for the inheritance, innovation and development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). In this article, National Standard for Chinese Patent Drugs (NSCPD) enacted by Ministry of Public Health of China was chosen to exemplify how to carry out prescription data reconstruction and effective application of the prescription data based on data mining (DM) method, there were three main parts as below:First, analysis on the importance and urgency of prescription data application were made. Based on the characters of prescription data, application status quo was made to learn that prescription reconstruction based on DM was important and necessary for the effective management and utilization of prescription data.Second, research on the methodology of prescription data reconstruction was made. After knowing advantages and application status quo of combination of prescription data and DM, we proposed the data reconstruction method and took data from NSCPD as an example to clarify the methodology. The first step was prescription data standardization, including name of drugs, their functions and TCM diseases that were involved, etc. And then the structured data base was constructed. After that, DM methods such as association rules analysis, entropy clustering, which were integrated in the software Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System (TCMISS), were applied to process the data. It enabled two-dimensional data to transform into three-dimensional one, which made it more convenient to search for target data and analyze it efficiently.Third, data reconstruction outcome was displayed. Based on TCMISS, detailed analysis on NSCPD was made. The article displayed the rebuilt data from two aspects, namely, medicine and disease, ginseng, Lonicera Japonica Flos, Rhei Radix Et Rhizoma and pain related diseases were chosen to exemplify the composition rules of medicines and medication rules of diseases, which provided new thoughts for prescription data application based on DM method from a new angle.The most important point of the article is via rebuilding a data base of prescriptions from NSCPD based on DM method, to transform two-dimensional data into three-dimensional one to make prescription data visualized, to provide innovate ideas for prescription data management and application eventually.
