Objective:To investigate the role of NF-κB and COX-2in the carcinogene-sis,development and prognostic value of endometrial carcinoma (EC).Methods:The expression of NF-KB/p65and COX-2in endometrial tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry (S-P) method in34cases of normal en-dometrium,31cases with atypical proliferative endometrial tissue and100cases of EC.Results:The positive expression rates of NF-κB/p65were35.3%,41.9%and63.0%in normal endometrial tissue, atypical proliferative endometrial tissue and EC respectively, showing an increased tendency from normal endometrium to EC. The positive expression of NF-κB/p65was higher in poorly differentiated tissues than in moderately and well differentiated EC tissues. The expression of NF-κB/p65had no significant relationship with myometrial invasion, lymph no-de status or FIGOstage and pathologial types of cancers. We found no significa-nt difference in COX-2expression among the three groups. There was no signi-ficant relationship with FIGO stage, histological grading, myometrial invasion, or lymph node status and pathologial types of cancers. Conclusion:NF-κB/p65plays an important role in the carcinogensis of EC. NF-κB/p65may have prognostic value in EC.We have no find that COX-2ex-pression has relationship with the carcinogensis or development of EC.
