Objective: To explore new ideas for the clinical diagnosis and treatment ofabdominal mass and provide quotable clinical experiences in order to improvethe clinical efficacy.Methods: In this research,the materials of the origin,the symptoms and signs, the etiology and pathogenesis about abdominal masswere collected by the literature method of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Basedon the prescriptions for abdominal mass in Ming and Qing Dynasties from ThePrescriptions of Traditional Chinese Medicine Dictionary,the database ofprescriptions was established and sorted by the statistical method in orderto investigate the regularity of medication and prescriptions for abdominalmass by physicians in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Conclusion:â‘ The main methodsfor abdominal mass from physicians in Ming and Qing Dynasties includeprotecting the spleen and kidney, clearing heat and detoxicating, removingpathogen respectively,transferring heat,removing heat from blood anddissipating blood stasis, treating phlegm and stasis simultaneously;â‘¡Themedicines are selected in the clinical treatment of abdominal mass as thefrequency which are mainly pungent, bitter and sweet in taste and warm, coldand flat in property and goes to the liver meridian, spleen meridian andstomach meridian. The medicines with the function of activating blood andremoving stasis, nourishing deficiency, regulating Qi are frequently appliedin clinic and high frequent medicine pairs are explored through data mining during Ming and Qing Dynasties;â‘¢The theory of "abdominal mass due toincubative pathogen" is put forward based on the conclusion of theory, therapy,prescriptions and medicine by physicians in Ming and Qing Dynasties in orderto summarize the curative thinkings.
