| Objective:To observe the therapeutie effect of acupuncture at Wailaogong making strong stimulation in treating hand hypertonia after stroke by evaluating the degree of hand muscle tone, movment function and ADL. Then make a comparision with control group to investigate the outcome of acupuncture at Wailaogong making strong stimulation in treating hand hypertonia after stroke.Methods:70 patients with hand hypertonia after stroke were randomly divided into treatment group 35 patients and control group 35 patients. Patients of the control group were only treated by conventional acupuncture for 30 minutes. Every six days was a course of treatment, there was an interval of one day between every two treatments. After treated by conventional acupuncture for 30 minutes, patients of the treatment group were acupunctured at Wailaogong and then produce to stimulate by utilizing the techniques like twist and lift and stick. At the same time, slightly trative the knuckles untile the fingers fully extended. We observed the changes of the patients’ hand muscle tone, movment function and ADL functional deficits after eight courses.Results:Clinical observations showed that the treatment group and control group patients’ MAS, FMA and ADL score were significantly different (P<0.05) after treatment. The treatment group’s Fugl-Meyer motor function score and MAS score was significantly better than the control group (P<0.05), but the activities of daily living have no obvious difference between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusions:1. Acupuncture at Wailaogong and then produce to stimulate can effectively treat hand hypertonia after stroke.2.The therapeutie effect of acupuncture at Wailaogong making strong stimulation in treating hand hypertonia after stroke in improving the degree of hand muscle tone, movment function and ADL is better than the control group. |
