Objective:To understand the resilience,social support, depression and quality of life in patient with burns, analyzing the influencing factors of resilience, social support, depression and quality of life, exploring the buffering effect of resilience and social support on and quality of life.Methods:Using non-probability sampling method to select patient with burns during rehabilitation period in Burns Center of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province from December 2011 to February 2013. Totally 305 patients were investigated with demographic questionnaire, Resilience Scale Chinese version (CD-RISC scale), Burn patients Health Questionnaire Chinese version (BSHS-C), Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS) and Social Support Rating Scale questionnaire. Use SPSS 20 to analysis the level of resilience, social support, depression and quality of life, investigate the relationship between the variables.Results:1) The resilience level of patients was 66.91 ± 13.01, among it the tough factor score was 34.50 ± 8.00, power factor score was 23.24 ±4.31, optimism factor score was 9.16 ± 2.64. The resilience level in patients with different genders and occupations has a statistically significant difference (P<0.01). Significant correlation exists between social support and the patient’s optimism factor score; 2) The social support score was 42.84 ± 6.17, the level of social support has significantly difference in different marital status, age, occupation and monthly income after injury;3) The score of depression in burns patient was 56.36 ± 8.59,221 patients with burns had depressive symptoms, the incidence of depression 72.5%, of which 149 cases had mild depression (48.9%),56 cases had moderate depression, (18.4%), 16 cases had severe depression (5.2%). Significant differences were found between different occupations and educational level as well as different burn severity,hand burns and amputations in patients had significant impact on the level of depression in patients; patient’s resilience level and social support level had a negative correlation with level of depression,multiple regression model had showed that occupation, burn severity, hand burns, amputation, social support, resilience were the predictors of depression in burns patient; 4) The score of quality of life in burns patient was 61.72 ± 18.37, at medium-low level, of all areas the score of physical function was lowest. Significant differences were found between different gender, marital status, and monthly income, burn severity, and specific parts burns, the level of patient’s resilience and social support had positively correlation with the quality of life score. Multiple regression analysis showed that gender, occupation, monthly income after injury, burn severity, hand burns, amputations, resilience and social support score were the predictors of quality of life score in burns patient.Conclusion:The resilience level of burns patient was at a medium level, had the potential to be improved; the high incidence of depression in patients with burns need to get attention of medical personnel, resilience and social support can help to reduce the incidence of depression; the quality of life score of burns patient was at middle-low level, resilience and social support has significantly influence on the quality.of life,medical personnel should pay attention to the patient’s resilience intervention, give positive support to enhance resilience, help patients to face diseases and maintain their own mental health; reduce the depression occurrence and improve the quality of life.
