Study On The Development Of Medical Tourism In Jilin Province

Medical tourism, the combination of two huge industries: medical industry and tourism industry, has the fastest speed to develop in modern society. Many counties of Asia have tried their best to open up the international market and benefit form it. However, in our country which has the rich resources, medical tourism just in primary stage and that in Jilin Province is not even start yet. By combing the basic theory about medical tourism, this paper studies the current situation and the successful experience of medical tourism in the surrounding area of China such as Thailand, India, Singapore and Korea. On the basis of this, this paper comprehensive analyses the resource characteristics of Jilin Province, and then puts forward reasonable strategies and suggestions. The main content of this paper is as following:Chapter one is the introduction. It is introduced why I chose it as my post-graduation thesis, the research background and significance. On the basis of literature analysis, this paper summarized the focus of medical tourism form scholars in and overseas, and then evaluates this discussion. Finally, I put forward the contents of my research.Chapter two summarized the concept and theoretical basis of medical tourism. Firstly, this paper discriminates some similar concepts such as health tourism, sports tourism and so on, and then puts forward the characteristic and classification of medical tourism. Finally, this paper elaborates these related theories such as resources endowment theory, location theory, the theory of life cycle, industrial convergence theory and the theory of market segmentation.Chapter three is that compare China with other counties from Asia, and introduce their successful experience to promote the development of medical tourism in China. Then, the characteristics and problems existed in medical tourism now are summarized in this chapter.Chapter four and five are the important parts in this article. Firstly, I analyze the type, reserves, quality and spatial distribution of medical tourism resources in Jilin Province. Then its spatial distribution is proved by the adjacent index and the lorenz curve. Then I summary the limits of medical tourism in Jilin Province. On this basis, in chapter five, I put forward strategies and suggestion for developing medical tourism in Jilin Province.Finally, I make a summary of the thesis and bring up its prospect.
