Objective:A case-control study was used to investigate the relationship between aorta dissection(AD) and blood uric acid level. Methods:We collected the cases of AD patients in our hospital form August 2012 to June 2014.There were 160 cases of aortic dissection and 157 control cases which excluded AD. Among them,The Stanford type A AD group of 58 cases, Stanford type B AD group 102 cases,The patient’s general information, medical history, routine laboratory tests(including blood lipid analysis, D-dimer, Serum uric, allergic CRP levels, platelets, white blood cells and blood sugar)and the risk factors of AD were collected. Results:There was no significant difference between case group and control group in age, gender, nationality, smoking and drinking, in terms of the history of hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart disease was also no significant difference. It was showed that the AD group was significantly higher in the serum uric level,(343.08±136.10mmol/L vs. 312.5±85.61mmol/L),P=0.017.The uric acid level in type A was significantly higher in type B(360.31±47.46mmol/L vs. 334.28±48.30mmol/L respectively).Stepwise multiple logistic regressions showed that hyperuricemia(OR= 1.231, 95% CI:0.919~0.981), hypertension(OR=1.263, 95% CI:1.033~2.099), CRP(mg/l)(OR=1.526, 95% CI:1.094~6.129), D-dimer(ng/ml)(OR=1.012, 95% CI:4.004~5.020) significantly increased the risk of AD. Conclusion: There is the relationship between AD and the blood uric acid level increased.
