| ObjectiveWe used the prospective research method to observe the curative effect of Zhixie Decoction for infantile rotavirus enteritis in clinic, so that we could explore the application of traditional Chinese medicine in pediatrics. MethodsWe selected 120 cases diagnosed with rotavirus enteritis in all the patients of Laiwu City Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine from 2013 February to 2014 February. On the basis of completely randomized principle, we used the method of random number table to divide these patients into treatment group and control group, 60 cases each. All the General statistics such as age, sex, time of onset were recorded to analyze the disease epidemiology of RV. We applied Zhixie Decoction in the treatment of infantile rotavirus enteritis of damp heat type, based on traditional Chinese medicine theory and combined with the characteristics of children’s physical. Treatment group were dealed with Zhixie decoction treatment and control group with ribavirin combined with Smecta in treatment. Both groups were treated with rehydration, symptomatic treatment for supportive treatment. At the end of research comparison of two groups in the therapeutic effect, recovery time and adverse reactions were summerized and analyzed with statistical methods. ResultThe treatment group of 60 cases 31 male and 29 female. The age ranging from 1 month to 5 years old. The control group included 32 male and 28 female with the age ranging from 3 months to 5 years old. The data of gender and age in both groups were processed with chi square test. Results showed that P>0.05, indicating no statistical difference and the two groups were comparable. In the aspect of severity classification, the two groups included more medium cases(61 patients) than light(49 cases), and severe ones(8.3%).In the epidemiology section, rotavirus enteritis in Laiwu mainly occured in 6 months to 2 years old children. The distribution of season indicated that RV were more popular from September to January of the following year, which was easily infected in autumn and winter. In the part of clinical efficacy, treatment group was 100%, while the effective rate of control group was 91.7%. The results showed that χ 2=28.15, P < 0.05 which provided significant difference and indicated that the treatment group was better than control group. The comparison of the recovery time between the two groups was applied with t test. The results showed that in the recovery data of, returning of normal feces(t=4.99), normal frequency of defecation(t=5.01), the cooling time(t=4.35), stool normal(t=3.97), all the P<0.05, which indicated there were significant differences and the recovery time in the treatment group were shorter than the control group. During the treatment, no adverse events were reported.ConclusionsZhixie soup was researched with the guidance of my teacher and based on the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine. We summarized the physiological characteristics of children and found the decoction was very effective for children with rotavirus enteritis The clinical study showed:1. In the epidemiology section, rotavirus enteritis in Laiwu mainly occured in 6 months to 2 years old children. The distribution of season indicated that RV were more popular from September to January of the following year, which was easily infected in autumn and winter.2. In the part of clinical efficacy, treatment group was 100%, while the effective rate of control group was 91.7%. The results showed that the treatment group was better than control group.3. In the aspect of recovery time in the main symptoms, the treatment group recovered faster in the stool, abdominal pain or abdominal distension, times, fever and routine stool than the control group. Zhixie Decoction for infantile rotavirus enteritis symptoms was more helpful.4. During the treatment, no adverse events were reported. Therefore, Zhixie Decoction in the treatment of infantile rotavirus enteritis is superior to western medicine treatment in effect and recovery time, and is suitable for popularization and application. |
