The Clinical Research Of The Senile Osteoporosis Thoracolumbar Compressed Fractures Treated By Duzhong Tablet

Objective:To study the curative efects of the Chinese traditional medicine Duzhong Tablet on senile osteoporosis thoracolumbar compressed fractures.Methods:60 patients (75 vertebrals) with senile osteoporosis thoracolumbar compressed fractures from July 2013 to May 2014 in Department of Orthopedics of Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital of Zhangzhou City were selected which are randomly divided into Group Treatment(Group T made up of 30 patients)and Group Comparison(Group C made up of 30 patients). Group T adopted Duzhong Tablet+PVP, Group C were treated with PVP. The changes of bone mineral density were compared between those treated with Duzhong Tablet +PVP and those with PVP before and after therapy. Furthermore, Visual analogue scale (VAS) method and Oswestry disability index were observed to assess the pre-and post-operative pain symptoms.Data was analyzed statistically by using the SPSS 18.0 statistical software package.Results:In Group T:5 patients achieved marked effect,25 patients achieved general effect,0 patients achieved no effect,and the rate of total efectivity is 100%,In Groups C:0 patients achieved marked effect,26 patients achieved general effect.4 patients achieved no efect, and the rate of total efectivity is 86.67%.The differences between these two groups are distinct.Conclusion:The Chinese traditional medicine Duzhong Tablet have distinctive efect on strengthening bone and tonifying the kidney.combined with PVP,the traditional medicine’s treatment efect on the senile osteoporosis thoracolumbar compressed fractures is better than that of PVP alone,and it is safe comparatively. It is one of the effective therapeutic treatments to use the kind of Chinese traditional medicine like Duzhong Tablet in patients with senile osteoporosis thoracoiumbar compressed fractures.
