Objective:To analysis the factors affecting prognosis for children children with mechanical ventilation in pediatric intensive unit(PICU), in order to help identify the clinical diagnosis and better treatment, and reduce the disease mortality and morbidity of children with mechanical ventilation. Methods: Retrospective study Clinical datas of 64 ecutive patients with mechanical ventilation admitted to the university teaching hospital pediatric intensive care unit from January 2011 to December 2014.Logistic analysis was performed to identify risk factors associated with prognosis.normal distributed data is said by x±S, use t‐test to means comparison for significance test;the skewness data is expressed as the median and quartile range with being analyzed by using wilcoxon signed rank test. All data entries use SPSS17.0 software for statistical analysis, resulting in P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Univariate analysis identified sex、age、infected or non‐infected、number of white blood cell 、 APTT 、 alanine transaminase 、 CKMB 、 Serumcreatinine 、Serumnatremia、Serumkalemia、PH、PaO2、PaCO2、number of platelet、Platelet hematocrit、MPV、blood glucose level did not affect the prognosis of critically ill children with mechanical ventilation; the length of hospital days、PCIS、 Serum albumin levels 、 Serum LDH levels 、 serum calcium 、 procalcitonin 、 length of mechanical ventilation affected the prognosis of critically ill children with mechanical ventilation. On multivariate analysis, the length of hospital days、pediatric critical illness score(PCIS) 、 serum calcium 、 Serum albumin levels, Serum LDH levels were independent risk factors for prognosis. Conclusion: PCIS、 Serum albumin levels、 Serum LDH levels 、serum calcium can be used as reference for the prognosis of children with mechanical ventilation, procalcitonin have a certain influence, the length of hospital stay was protective factors. In the process of treatment, clinical doctors should pay attention to these unfavorable factors. Relevant prevention and treatment at first time, try our best to improve the prognosis of children with mechanical ventilation critically ill,and reduce the disease mortality.
