Studies On The Conversion Products Of Secoiridoid Compound Oleuropein

Iridoid compounds have four biosynthetic pathways, producing four types of iridoids(including iridoid alcohol, 4-demethylation iridoid alcohol, secoiridoid alcohol, and split ring lactone iridoid alcohol). In order to reveal the transformation of iridoid class component, split macrolide iridoid alcohol type compound Gentiopicrin and Swertiamarin hot water conversion products were studied by our previous, basically reveals this type compound in the material basis of the conversion product, transforming ways. Oleuropein is widely present in Oleaceae plants, belonging to the secoiridoid alcohol compounds, this paper research by increased the conversion products of oleuropein, plays a guiding role for oleuropein-rich natural products in production, storage, quality control, application, and has important significance to the comprehensive understanding iridoids composition in properties, material foundation, ways of transforming. This work was supported by the Yunnan province key project(Grant: 2013FA040).Oleuropein was transformed in hot water, conversion products was separated by silica gel, sephadex LH-20, eighteen alkyl bonded silica gel, MCI-gel column chromatography, and five compounds were isolated from thermal conversion products. Four compounds were identified by spectral analysis and other methods which were Oleuroside(2), Hydroxytyrosyl methylether(3), Methylelenolate(4), Syringaresinol(5).In the study, we found that conversion products of oleuropein was mainly made by open loop, cracking, etherification, hydrolysis under the heating conditions. The preliminary experiments revealed the material basis of Oleuropein hot water conversion products, conversion products compared with gentiopicroside’s and sweroside’s, follow similar patterns of conversion.In addition, we summarized the pharmacological activities and extraction of Oleuropein, the synthesis methods and pharmacological activities of Hydroxytyrosol.
