With the improvement of living standards, Chinese are paying more and moreattention to healthy and reasonable diet. The rationality of diet is closely related toindividual health and it lies on the comprehensive effect of various nutrients taken into thebody. Dietary energy is an important part of dietary nutrition and it is also the power sourceof the life activities. The individual dietary energy assessment is of great significance fordietary assessment. Meanwhile, due to the diversity of human food and nutrients intake andcomplexity of the relationship of dietary characteristics and health, the group dietarycharacteristics research namely dietary patterns is of great value for individual dietaryassessment and guidance.Since the current dietary energy assessment criteria is single and it not considering thedifferences of individual rationality of weight, an individual dietary energy assessmentmethod combined with BMI was proposed in this paper. The method puts forwardcorresponding dietary energy assessment criterias for people with different BMI range. Theenergy nutrition curve and its scoring rules were used to quantitatively assess the rationalityof dietary energy. The rationality of individual dietary energy was then graded based on theenergy score. Experimental results show that the mean error rate of the proposed methodused to actual population is1.69%. The method could effectively assess the dietary energyrationality of Chinese. The energy scoring result is intuitive and easy to understand, so theproposed method is convenient for popularization and application in the crowd.Dietary pattern is a reflection of the overall dietary characteristics of the population. The research of Chinese dietary patterns is beneficial to promoting the healthy dietarydevelopment in China and it could be used to healthy dietary guidance directly. A Chinesedietary patterns analysis method was proposed in this paper. The dietary conditions ofChinese were divided into9kinds of dietary patterns using the proposed method based on3kinds of individual dietary energy assessment results and other3kinds of dietary structureresults. The dietary and attribute characteristics of the9kinds of people were obtained afteranalysis and the characteristics were all different from each other. What’s more, a dietary guidance reference solution was proposed based on the9kinds of dietary patterns.
