| Objective:To survey caries eruption and status of the first permanent molar of children aged6-10years old in Urumqi.Discussion on the prevention of caries.Methods:1183students in5schools aged6to10years old in Urumqi were inve-stttigated oral health examination and questionnaire by the method of cluster samp-ling.Results:1.The total prevalence of dental caries,1183chilsdren(429Uyghur,754Han) was13.36%. The prevalence of caries of girls (16.54%) was higher than that one of boys (11.43%),Uygur (16.78%) was higher than that one of Han (11.41%). The-re was a significant difference between gender and nation.2.The total rate of the f irst permanent molar eruption was92.41%,The prevalence of eruption rate of the first permanent molar was increased with the age. there was significant difference of the eruption of the first permanent molar between Uygur and Han(p<0.05).The time of the eruption of the first permanent molar was delayed.3.Logistic regressio n analysis showed:brushing earlier age,brushing longer time,drinking milk were th-e protective factors of caries.High-frequency sweets and beverages,are risk factors, were significantly associated with first permanent molarcaries.Conclusion:The prevalence of caries of the first permanent molar of children aged6-10years old in Urumqi was higher. The prevalence of caries of the girls was h-igher than that one of boys,Uygur was higher than that one of Han. There was si-gnificant difference of the eruption of the first permanent molar between Uygur an- d Han(p<0.05).The time of eruption of the first permanent molar has delayed.High frequency sweets and beverages were a risk factor for first permanent molar caries. Brushing teeth earlier age and brushing properly can reduce caries.Strengthen the o ral health education to prevent of the first permanent molar caries and popular sc-hool age children to Pit and fissure sealant. |
