Objective:To compare the effects between Thera-Band resistance training combined with aerobic exercise and aerobic exercise only about heart rate, blood pressure and heart chronotropic response index2(CRI2) of elderly patients with essential hypertension.Methods:90cases of elderly patients with essential hypertension were randomly divided into normal medication group (group A), aerobic exercise combined with medication group (group B), Thera-Band resistance training combined with aerobic exercise and medication group (C group), each group had30cases. Before and after training, all the patients took cardiogram exercise testing to evaluate cardiac function. Group B and C were trained in8weeks, three times a week. Patients in group C took60minutes aerobic exercise plus Thera-Band resistance training in three actions. Each action had3groups and each group with resistance of8RM (after finish eight actions of each group, trained muscle had slightly fatigue). Had a rest of1-3minutes between each group. Results:Before training, the three groups of indicators had no difference (P<0.05).To compare the difference among the indexes of8weeks later, HRmax, SBPrest, myocardial oxygen consumption and CRI2of group B and C have difference with group A (P>0.05), and no difference between group B and C (P<0.05). There is only DBPmax had difference in group C and group A (P>0.05). SBPmax had difference between every two of the three groups (P>0.05). HRrest and DBPrest had no difference in the three groups (P<0.05).Conclusion:Aerobic exercise can effectively improve the HRmax, SBPrest and SBPmax, myocardial oxygen consumption and CRI2of the elderly patients with essential hypertension, i.e. increasing heart rate reserve and output. Particularly good at balance the function of cardiac sympathetic nerve and vagus nerve. Aerobic exercise can hardly improve the HRrest and DBPrest., Thera-Band resistance training can make CRI2returned to normal, reduce the DBPmax and SBPmax obviously, as well as the role of peripheral circulation resistance.
