Objective: To investigate the prevalence of etiology of severecommunity-aqquired pneumonia(CAP) in children in Chongqing area. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical dataof229hospitalized children with severe CAP from Junuary2012toDecember2012. Pathogens were studied.Results:222children were detected, positive rate was81.5%(181/222), bacteria detected87cases (48.1%), virus22cases (12.2%), fungi10cases (5.5%), mycoplasma pneumonia8cases (4.4%), chlamydiatrachomatis1cases (0.6%), mixed infection53cases (29.3%). A total of282pathogen strains were identified,176were strains bacteria (62.4%),including gram negative bacilli140strains (79.5%), gram positive bacteria36strains (20.5%), klebsiella pneumoniae (43strains) and streptococcuspneumoniae (20strains) respectively. Virus were70strains (24.8%), ofwhich the RSV the highest detection rate,61.4%(43/70); fungi were22strains (7.8%); Mycoplasma pneumoniae were13strains (4.6%); Chlamydiatrachomatis was1strains (0.4%). In the mixed infection of53cases, virusesand bacteria infection together were common (73.6%).Conclusions: Bacerial infections was the mainly pathogens of the severeCAP in Chongqing area, and gram negative bacteria was the most frequentpathogens, klebsiella pneumoniae infection accounted for the major place, followed by streptococcus pneumoniae. Objective: To observe the clinical effect and complications ofIntravenous Immunoglobulin(IVIG)on Severe Adenovirus Pneumoni(aSAP)in children.Method: The clinical data of210hospitalized children with SAP wereretrospectively analyzed from June2009to June2011, according towhether or not to use gamma globulin (IVIG) were divided into IVIGgroup (109cases) and control group (101cases), Compare the therapeuticeffects and fever time and the length of stay in hospital mechanicalventilation and complications between the two groups. Results: There was no difference in the severity of illness onadmission and underlying diseases between two groups. Both of the twogroups were given antiviral, antibacterial and comprehensive supporttherapy, in the IVIG group added IVIG (250-400mg/(kg.d)) for3-5d. Themean hospital stay and fever time of the IVIG group significantly shortened to the control group, and the time of mechanical ventilation on the IVIGgroup is less than the Non-IVIG group, and the incidence rate of pleuraleffusion and atelectasis and myocarditis and toxic encephalopathy in theIVIG group is lower than the control group, and the cure rate and effectivetherapy of the IVIG group is higher than control group, all of the differencewas statistically significant (P<0.05). No adverse drug reaction wasobserved. Conclusions: IVIG is safe and effective in the treatment of SAP inchildren.
