Efficacy Analysis Of Two Internal Fixation Of Humeral Condyle Fracture In Children

Objective：Analysis Kirschner wires and absorbable screws the effcacyand value in the treatment of children with humeral condyle fractures.Method：To review and analyze the children with humeral condylefractures in the period of January2010to January2012, According to thediagnostic criteria of the humeral condyle fracture in children, we collected154cases in total, there remaining94cases with complete data, including53patients who treated with open reduction and internal fixation byabsorbable screws(group A), and41patients treated with open reduction andinternal fixation by Kirschner wires(group B). According to the differentfixation materials, using spss19.0software to analyze two groups of childrenby age, sex, the time after injury and before surgery to confirm if there wascomparability between the two groups. Then using fracture healing time、wound infection、total function of elbow、losing carrying angle as index tocompare therapeutic effects of the two internal fixation materials.Result：There was no statistical significance on the difference of theage、sex、the time after injury and before surgery between the two groups,and indicate there was comparability between the two groups.The average healing time: there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05), but there were significant differences in the timing ofhealing between absorbable screws and Kirschner.Wound infection: There was no wound infected in absorbable screwsand Kirschner, but there was five cases of pin tract infection in Kirschner,the rate of infection is12.20%.Total function of elbow: there was no statistically significantdifference (P>0.05), but there are difference(P＜0.05)between the twogroups in the excellent range of distribution, suggesting that children withabsorbable screws have a better functional recovery.Losing carrying angle: there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion：In the treatment of children with humeral condylefractures, absorbable screws do not have the risk of pin tractinfection、conducive to early exercise, early bone healing, better functionalrecovery, efficacy exactly, no second surgery to remove, reducing the painand burden of children, worthy of clinical application. Meanwhile,Kirschner have advantage of effective, cheap, and is another good choice forchildren.
