Clinical Evaluation Of Acne Vulgaris Treatment Using Different Materials Back Scraping Combined With Acupuncture

Background:Scrapping therapy, one of special acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, that is simple, inexpensive and effective. By stimulating main-colateral channels, Zang-Fu organs; adjusting body’s Yin-Yang and QI-blood, normalizing Physiological function, scrapping trerapy maintains human body’s Health and cures diseases. Scrapping has significant effect in dermatology diseases treatment. This study, by using different materials (horn and bian-stone) back scrapping combined with Acupuncture for the treatment of acne vulgaris, investigates the relationship between scrapping combining acupuncture, disease’s severity and effectiveness.Objective:The aim of this study is to evaluate Acne Vulagris (AV) treatment using back scrapping combined with acupunture. And moreover to observe the difference between horns and bian-stone, which are commonly used as scrapping plate material.Methods:Selected60AV patients whose meet the diagnostic, inclusion and exclusion criteria and also included to GAGS’ mild-moderate-severe tree grades, ramdomized into2groups, Horns Group and Bian-stone Group. Each group has of30patients. Both groups are treated with the same acupuncture and back scrapping methods. Acupunture takes30minutes, alternately chooses two sets of acu-point. Horns group uses horns and Bian-stone group uses bian-stone material asscrapping plate. Back scrapping chooses Du Meridian and Bladder meridian. Both groups takes three times a week, observate two weeks treatments in total. All the data use SPSS18.0acquiring statistical analysis. Results:Normalization of data:There was no significant difference between Horns Group and Bian-stone Group in age, gender, duration of disease, and GAGS index before treatment, P>0.05.After two weeks of treatment, Horns Group has statistical difference before and after in GAGS index, and so Bian-stone does, P<0.001. While Bian-stone Group showed distinctly degression rather than Horns Group P<0.05. The total effectiveness rate between two groups illustrated statistical diversity, P<0.05, Horns Group is76.67%effective, Bian-stone Group96.67%is effective.Respectively, in mild-moderate-severe tree grades of GAGS System, total effectiveness rate of mild grades between the two groups after2weeks of treatment showed that mild grade between two group has significant difference, P<0.05.Comparison in Group itself, showed that mild-moderate, moderate-severe and mild-severe of both Horns Group and Bian-stone Group have not statistically differences, P>0.05.Conclus ion:Acne Vulgaris treatment using back scraping combined with acupuncture has significant therapeutic effects. While Horns and Bian-stone, different material of scrapping plate, have diversity in AV treatment efficacy. Trough clinical observation Bian-stone is more effective than Horns, in overall and mild cases for spesific.
