BackgroundP300is a electrophysiological techniques, reflecting an individual’s cognitive level, having been widely used to detect a variety of psychiatric disorders in cognitive function, cognitive defects in patients with schizophrenia can be reflected by P300. Research on violent crime patients with schizophrenia belongs to psychiatry research. Violent crime patients with mental illness has its particularity and cognitive deficits in psychiatric patients have a greater impact on its modus, so the study of cognitive function in violent crime patients with schizophrenia has its practical value. P300technology studied the cognitive characteristics on patients with schizophrenia is an effective means.ObjectiveTo analyze the features of violent crime male patients with schizophrenia auditory event-related potential P300and the reference value of P300in mental illness forensic work.MethodThis study is a case-control study, Collecting in Henan psychiatric hospital identified in line with Chinese Classification and Diagnostic Criteria of Mental Disorders-Ⅲ (CCMD-Ⅲ)142cases of suspected violent crime schizophrenia (violent groups) and148cases of suspected non-violent crime in schizophrenia (nonviolent group),146cases of the ordinary hospitalized patients suffering from schizophrenia (normal group). In this study, the Danish production Chaturvedi Keypoint4-channel P300auditory evoked potential instrument was used to complete the detection of auditory P300each index. P300each index of the three groups were compared and analyzed. Results1In the three groups target P3latency difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05), differences of the rest of the indicators were statistically significant in the three groups (P <0.05). Target N1, N2latency and non-target P2latencies, pairwise comparing, the differences in the three groups were statistically significant (P<0.017); target P3and non-target P2amplitude, pairwise comparison of each group, the differences were statistically significant (p<0.017).2First suspected perpetrators of violence and more than twice (including twice) suspected perpetrators of violence, the difference of P300each indicator was not statistically significant (P>0.05).ConclusionViolent crime male patients with schizophrenia auditory event-related potentials (ERPs) P300has its own characteristics. Cognitive function of violent crime male patients with schizophrenia can be reflected objectively by P300. There was no distinctive in the cognitive function of first suspected perpetrators of violence and more than twice (including twice) suspected perpetrators of violence patients with schizophrenia first.Auditory event-related potentials (ERPs) P300have a higher reference value on the mental illness forensic work.
