Objective: Through the health service survey of Dandong city health bureau in2012, the objective of this research was to understand the basic health status of urbanand rural residents in Dandong city, and the gap of the national level, the main healthproblems and the main factors influenced the residents’ health; To understand the levelof health services utilization and the characteristics of the residents, analyze the mainfactors affected health service utilization, the main causes hindered the health servicesutilization and evaluate the status of the health services; To provide supporting data forthe establishment of regional health planning, so as to promote the health developmentin our region and safeguard the health level of the people to enhance unceasingly.Methods:1. Investigated status of urban and rural residents in Dandong city byquestionnaire investigation.2. This study was a retrospective investigation study whichneeded objects to review the past illness and hospitalization and filled those informationin the questionnaire.3. Took the stratified cluster random sampling method to samplethis survey.4. Literature study method was used to determine the basic framework, formand content of the questionnaire survey.5. Statistical analysis: used EXCEL to establishthe database, converted it into SPSS database after checked and corrected, used SPSS software for statistical processing; Used rate and frequency in descriptive analysis of thebasic situation of the study objects, used x2test and unconditioned logistic regression toanalyze the factors step by step.Results: Two weeks prevalence was14.96%, the impact factors: region, gender,age, marital status, educational level, whether suffering from chronic diseases andphysical exercise; The ranked top five diseases: hypertension, upper respiratory tractinfection, influenza, coronary heart disease and gastritis; The prevalence of chronicprevalence was32.93%, and its influence factors were: region, gender, age, maritalstatus, the presence of medical coverage and BMI; The ranked top four chronic diseasesin urban and rural areas were the same, namely: hypertension (80.01%), coronary heartdisease, diabetes (23.38%) and intervertebral disc herniation; The two-week hospitalvisit rate was8.42percent, the impact factors were gender and whether suffering fromchronic disease; The most likely places to go for those who were sick in two weekswere health rooms or stations and county, city or district hospital; The sick people whodid not seek medical care accounted for43.73%among the sick population, mainly dueto self-inductance mild disease (62.09%) and economic difficulties (16.11%);Thehospitalization rate was7.24%, and its main choice inpatient units was county, city ordistrict hospital, followed by the city or local hospital; The people who did not choosehospital unit accounted for34.12%among the population diagnosed by doctors thatneed to be hospitalized, mainly due to economic difficulties (42.26%) and no beds(20.22%).Conclusion: The needs of health services in residents of Dandong city were notlarge, but there were some health problems, especially the development of chronichealth needed to be controlled; Relatively, the utilization of health services amongresidents in Dandong city was low, the rate of not seen a doctor and not chose hospitalunit were high, the government should formulate relevant policies, in order to content the health needs of residents and improve the health level of residents in Dandong.
