Portulaca oleracea L. Belongs to the genus Portulaca(Portulacaceae),which isan annual succulent herb, also known as other names, grow in the garden, farmland, moist mountains and fertile areas, rich in Sichuan, distribute all over the country. Notonly can be used as medicine, but also as vegetable, it has been designated as thetraditional Chinese medicine by China’s Ministry of health along with another78kinds of medicinal plants, Its extract or active constituents could be used forantimicrobial, antivirus, antitumor,anti-atheroscloresis, hypoglycemic[1]. Researchin recent years shows that, the herb also showed blood-fat,hypoglycemic,antiatherosclerosis effect[2].In this paper, based on the overview of Portulaca oleracea L.including its chemical constituents and pharmacological activities, doing detailedresearch on the chemical constituents of Portulaca oleraceaL. Based on theextraction, isolation and identification of the active monomer compounds, providingan important material and information resources for the development of naturalmedicine.From70%EtOH extraction of Portulaca oleracea L.12compounds wereisolated by the means of chemical and spectroscopic methods. On the basis ofphysicochemical properties and spectral analysis, and by comparison with literaturedata,10compounds were elucidated as: dimethyl phthalate, friedelin,4α-methyl-3β-OH-friedelan, ceryl alcohol, kaemferol, quercetin, Luteolin,1-triacontanol,β-sitosterol,daucosterol.
