Portulaca oleracea L., one of the most important natural drugs in traditional Chinese herb, is described as antipyetic, anti-toxication, stomachic and hydragogue agent. It has the antilipemic, hypoglycemic and anti-atherogenic activities in recent pharmacological research. It also has high nutritional values and is considered as one of the most prospective green food in 21 century. In this thesis, the author has investigated the chemical constituents and its quality determination of Portulaca oleracea L..In this thesis, the chemical constituents of the extracts with 70% ethanol-water from Portulaca oleracea L.were studied, 14 compounds were isolated with silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and ODS, etc. On the basis of analysis with UV, NMR, MS data and measuring of physico-chemical characters, the chemical structures of 12 compounds were elucidated as 3-acetylaleuritolic acid (1), friedelin (2), 4α-methyl-3β-hydroxylfriedelan (3), lupeol (4), kaempferol (5), quercetin (6), apigenin (7), Luteolin (8), trollisine (9), E-p-coumatic acid (10),β-sitosterol (11), daucosterol (12). Of all these compounds, compounds land 2 were isolated for the first time from Purslane.The quality determination method was established for the Portulaca oleracea L.. In this thesis, the anthor used the HPLC to determine the trollisine in the whole plant of Portulaca oleracea L., and to provide the basis for quality specification of Portulaca oleracea L..
