ObjectiveInvestigate the Chinese medicine regularity for angina coronary heart disease according to the medical record during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Furthermore, provide a reference for the Chinese medical treatment of the disease.MethodsIn ancient Chinese medicine and clinical symptoms associated with angina coronary heart disease pectoris and Chinese medicine called search term, use the "Encyclopaedia of Traditional Chinese Medical (Fifth Edition)"software to retrieve the relevant medical record during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and then one by one to read, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria screening out cases in which doctors are treating angina pectoris. Establish a database and analyzed the data using Excel2007software. Survey the medical use rule of ngina coronary heart disease pectoris during the Ming and Qing Dynasties according to the medical records distribution, the efficacy of the drug classification, frequency of use, gender and flavour, tropism, and prescriptions and other sources.Results1. Medical records distribution:retrieve992medical records during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, after screening, which belong to the medical case of CHD angina pectoris were92. Further removing duplication and lack of medication records, a total of82medical records related treatment of CHD angina pectoris were in the analysis. The medical case involved106kinds of drugs, the use of the frequency were599times.2.Drug efficacy rule:involve the drug classification in18categories of drugs in "pharmacy", according to the kind of drugs in descending order: tonic medicine, qi medicine, blood circulation drugs, Huatanzhike flat asthma drugs, warm in medicine, dampness drugs, Pingganxifeng drugs, and drugs and other benefits of water dampness; arranged by frequency of drug use: Huatanzhike asthma medicine, qi medicine, warm in medicine, tonics, and water infiltration Wet drugs, blood circulation drugs, relieving drugs, dampness, antipyretic, blood hemostatic and so on.3. Drug using frequency:there were15kinds of drugs which using frequency were≥10. The top ten were Breit, Melon, scallion white, cinnamon/cassia twig, Poria, orange peel, fructus aurantii/citrus aurantium, ginger, wine, licorice, accounting for54.10%of all medication frequency.4. Medicinal rule:whether it is by containing several kinds of drugs or by the frequency of drug use, from more to less were followed by warm, cold, flat resistance, heat resistance, and cold resistance. The warm drug were50%of the total number of drugs and61.44%of the drug using frequency, and cold medicines were24.53%of the total number of drugs and22.37%of the drug using frequency.5. Gender and flavour rule:according to several drugs containing more to less followed by the acrid, bitter, sweet, salty, sour, light, and astringent, in which the top three accounted for88.96%of the total; descending frequency by drug followed by acrid, bitter, sweet, bland, salty, sour, and astringent, in which the top three accounted for92.51%of the total.6. Tropism rule:from high to low frequency by drug tropism followed by lung, stomach, spleen, heart, large intestine, liver, kidney, bladder, gall bladder, small intestine, triple burner, pericardium. Among the top six accounted for89.30%of the total.7. The source of prescription rule:the drug with using frequency greater than10times were Breit, Melon, scallion white, cinnamon/cassia twig, Poria, orange peel, fructus aurantii/citrus aurantium, ginger, wine,(Sunburn) licorice, Inula, almonds, ginger, Magnolia, and turmeric. From the point of the drug composition covering the top six first medication soup with the Gualouxiebai white wine soup, Gualouxiebai Banxia soup, citrus aurantium Xiebai Guizhi, licorice Poria almond soup, trifoliate orange ginger, and ginger citrus aurantium Gui soupin in "Golden Chamber·chest pain and shortness of breath abnormal pulse ninth rule". ConelusionThe major use of Chinese medicine in the medical records of the Ming and Qing Dynasties for the treatment of angina coronary heart disease pectoris were Huatanzhike asthma drugs, qi medicine, warm in medicine, tonics, diuresis Shenshi drugs, blood circulation based medicine; Gender and flavour with acrid, bitter, Sweet oriented; medicinal with warm and cold; Meridian with lung, stomach, spleen, heart, intestine, liver based. Cause of angina coronary heart disease pectoris related internal organs positions in patients, especially with the heart most closely adjacent organs. In the pathogenesis, drinking water and phlegm, qi stagnation, blood stasis, Hanning, and gas yang deficiency were related, especially with phlegm, qi stagnation, Hanning, gas yang deficiency. The most use of drug were cold and Xin Wen Gan Wen yang tonic, expectorant drug bitter warm dampness on treatment. On the other hand, widely used in cold medicines may prevent warm dry with drugs Shangyin, may also be the same at the time of physicians in clinical practice has great importance to the heat evil in the pathogenesis of this disease related. According to the recipe distribution, from the "Golden Chamber" is the most widely used herbs, prompted by the parties in the treatment of angina pectoris due to curative been widely used.
