ObjectiveTo compare the efficacy of mechanical hysteroscopy(referred to cold1oop) and energy equipment hysteroscopy(referred to electric loop) in rest oring menstrual pattern and uterine cavity shape and the difference of re productive outcome.Study designRetrospective cohort study of91women with Moderate-to-severe intrau terine adhesions who were treated with hysteroscopic adhesiolysis in the Gynecology department of Guang gong Provincial Hospital of TCM from the J an.2010to Jun.2012.39patients were performed with cold loop adhesiolysi s and other52patients were performed with electric loop adhesiolysis.D ata are mainly collected by refering hospital and outpatiet medical recor ds, combined with telephone follow-up to compare the fertility outcome of patiets with fertility requirements postoperative lyear. furthermore, those two groups were divided into two subgroups respectively to compare the e fficacy of those two surgical approaches in restoring menstrual pattern a nd uterine cavity shape3months or6months after hysteroscopic adhesiol ysis.ResultsSubgroup1,progynova amount less than or equal to4mg/day.3months po stoperative, cold loop group with the recovery rate78.6%achieved signifi cantly (P<0.05) greater restoretion Of uterine cavity shape than tha t of electric loop with the recovery rate36.4%.6months postoperative, c old loop group with the recovery rate96.7%achieved significantly (P<0.05) greater restoretion Of menstrual pattern than that of electric1 oop group with the recovery rate68.2%. The two groups showed no significa nt difference in restoring menses after1month and3months postoperative and in restoring uterine cavity shape6months postoperative and also t he same in Subgroup2, progynova amount of6mg/day-9mg/day, and the fer tility outcome within1year postoperative had no significance between th ose two groups too. ConclusionWithin6months postoperatively, for patients with Moderate-to-severe intrauterine adhesions, hysteroscopic adhesiolysis with cold loop could re store menses and uterine cavity shape better than that with electric loop. However, there were no difference between the two gronps about reproducti ve outcome within1year postoperatively.
