Study About The Total Saponins Of Panax Notoginseng Eye Drops’ Toxic Effects Of Rabbit Eyes

[Objective]Study the toxic effects of the Total saponins of panax notoginseng(PNS) eye drops on rabbit eyes basically so as to provide safety evidence for its clinical experiment.[Method]There are to healthy New Zealand white rabbits who are divided into four groups which are Groupl%,Group2%,Group3%and the Control Group. Their right eyes are as the experiment eyes. Each Rabbit in experiment group receive two eye drops in their right eyes and four times per day to simulate clinical medication. Observe the rabbits’anterior chamber(whether there is the Tyndall phenomenon) and crystalline lens under the Clinical slit lamp microscope and measure the rabbits’lop (intraocular pressure) with Schiotz intraocular pressure apparatus. In the end, analyze the data collected with spss17.0statistic software package.[Results]1. Inflammatory irritation on anterior chambenThere are respectively0、1、2cases which occurs the phenomenon of Tyndall in Group1%、 Group2%、 Group3%Statistic results show P>0.05which indicates there is no statistical difference among the different concentration groups and it is the same as the different concentration groups and the Control group. The data prove the1%、2%、3%eye drops have no obvious inflammatory irritation effects on anterior chambers. 2. Effect on crystalline lens:There is none which appears lens opacity in both experiment groups and the control group. This testify that the1%,2%,3%eye drops have no evident on the rabbits’lens.3. The influences on IOP:results show the tests of comparison between any two means in different course of treatment indicate that there is no statistical different among the different concentration groups(P>0.05),neither does the different concentration groups and the control group(P>0.05). These data prove the1%、2%、3%eye drops almost have no effect on the rabbits’eyes.[Conclusion]1. There are no irritation and inflammation reaction in anterior chamber of rabbit eyes, after1%,2%and3%PNS eyedrops dropped in rabbit eyes.2.1%,2%and3%PNS eyedrops do not cause the intraocular pressure of rabbit eyes increased, and do not effect on the rabbit eye lens during the observation, when which are dropped in rabbit eyes.3. Local application of the1%,2%,3%PNS eye drops proves to be safe in the usage of the rabbits’eyes.
