| Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of high-frequency ultrasonography indetecting arterial disease of lower extremity in patients of type2diabetesmellitus(T2DM).Methods: Total125patients of T2DM were enrolled and96healthy subjects wereenrolled as control group. The arteries of lower extremity were scanned byhigh-frequency ultrasonography. The intima-media thickness (IMT), atheroscleroticplaques, stenosis, occlusion and hemodynamic changes were observed and analyzed.Resauls:The incidence rates of arterial diseases including IMT thickening, atherosclerotic plaques, stenosis and occlusion in diabetic group were higher than thoseof the control group (all P<0.05). The incidence of arteriosclerotic plaques was highestin femoral artery. The incidences of arterial stenosis and occlusion were highest inanterior tibal artery. The soft and mixed plaques were predominant in femoral artery andthe hard plaque was main type in anterior tibal artery, posterior tibal artery and dorsalispedis artery (all P<0.05).Conclusions: The high-frequency ultrasonography is a convenient and effectiveimaging mothod to detect the arterial diseases of lower extremity in patients of T2DM.It can provide objective basis for early diagnosis, prevention and treatment with important clinical significance. |
