| Objective:To explore the prevalence and risk factors for hyperuricemia inOverweight or obese patients with type2diabetes.Methods:Retrospective analysis of1441patients(722men and719women) withtype2diabetes,who were hospitalized in The First Affiliated Hospitalof Fujian Medical University from October2008to July2013.According toBMI levels the patients were divided into four groups of thin, normal, overweight and obese, and the clinical characteristic of each group wascompared. According blood uric acid levels, overweight and obese type2diabetic patients were divided into two groups: normal uric acid andhyperuricemia group, and the clinical characteristics between the twogroups were compared and the risk factors associated with hyperuricemiawere analyzed.Results:1. The rank of hyperuricemia prevalence among each group was obese group(25.80%)> overweight (11.90%)> normal group (10.99%)> thin group (2.38%).2.In patients of Overweight or obese, compared with normal uric acid group, the hyperuricemia group had higher body mass index (BMI), serum totalcholesterol (TCH), systolic blood pressure (SBP), waist circumference, duration of diabetes, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), triglyceride (TG),blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (Cr), urinary albumin/creatinineratio in urine (ACR), fasting C-peptide, prevalence of hypertension andkidney disease prevalence (P <0.05), and lower age, glycosylatedhemoglobin (HbA1C), blood uric acid control compliance rate(P <0.05);3. Multiple-stepwise logistic regression analysis indicated thatage, BMI, HbA1c, duration of diabetes, blood triglyceride, blood urea nitrogen arerisk factors associated with hyperuricemia in overweight or obesepatients with type2diabetes.Conclusions:The overweight or obese patients have a higher prevalence ofhyperuricemia. The metabolic states of overweight or obese type2diabeticpatients with hyperuricemia is more disorder, and the hypertension, kidney disease prevalence are higher. The controls of weight, blood lipids, and renal function helps lower blood uric acid level. |
