Objective To investigate the characteristics of attributional style and the influencingfactors of the colorectal cancer patients, The result will in order to improve the mentalhealth of patients with colorectal cancer and provide theoretical basis for the prevention,health care, clinical treatment, nursing and psychological intervention of colorectal cancer。Methods108patients with colorectal cancer and110healthy persons were examined byAttributional Style Questionnaire (ASQ), the Big Five Personality Questionnaire simplifiedversion (NEO-FFI), Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD), Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA). Using Chi-square test, t-test, correlation analysis and Stepwise regression analysisto analyze the data.Results1. Compared with the heath group, the scores of attributional style in the positiveevents were significant higher the study group (P﹤0.001),There were significantdifference in neuroticism, extraversion,agreeableness and conscientiousness of personalitytraits (P﹤0.05). There were significant difference between the study group and the controlgroup in depression and anxiety aspects (P﹤0.001), scores of the study group wassignificantly higher.2. The Stepwise regression analyze found that anxiety, openness, extraversion,conscientiousness, depression, were the relevant factors that affected the negative eventattribution of colorectal cancer patients. they could explain the total variance of27.6%;openness (B=0.927, t=5.105), neuroticism were the relevant factors that affected the negative event attribution of inside and outside dimension, it could explain the total varianceof12.8%; anxiety, extraversion, openness were the relevant factors that affected the stabledimension. They could explain the total variance of13.6%; anxiety, extraversion were therelevant factors that affected the overall attribution dimensions. They could explain the totalvariance of22.6%.Conclusions1.There are significant difference between the study group and thecontrol group in attributional style, the general trend in the intrinsic, stable, universalnegative attribution.2. Scores of neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness in patientswith colorectal cancer are higher than that of the normal control group.3. The study group is higher in depression and anxiety.4. Anxiety and depression, openness, extraversion, conscientiousness are predictive ofcolorectal cancer patients with negative events, attributional style.Therefore, for to avoid patients bring about negative attribution affecting the effects andcompliance of treatment when they were know suffering from cancer, the clinical health careworkers give appropriate guidance in the process of communication with patients.
