The characteristics of Water resources in sichuan province is space-time distribution imbalance, which makes frequently inundation and drought, so, the key to sustainable development of agriculture in sichuan province is water resources. This paper is based on water footprint theory, linking entity water and virtual water, the local water resources and the field of water resources, to systematically analyze the distribution of agricultural water resources in sichuan province and the use of the status quo, in order to achieve the sustainable utilization of agricultural water resources in sichuan province to provide theoretical basis. This article through the literature review-field survey, image analysis method, index evaluation method, grey correlation analysis method and so on research methods to determine the agricultural product virtual water in Sichuan Province from 2001 to 2011, on this basis, Through the calculation of agricultural production of virtual water, agricultural virtual water, virtual water consumption and analysis of dynamic change, measuring the various cities’s agricultural water footprint in sichuan province from 2001 to 2001. Analyzed the dynamic change of agricultural water footprint in various cities in Sichuan Province in nearly 11 years, from four aspects to build sustainable use of agricultural water footprint evaluation system:Water footprint structure, efficiency, ecological security and sustainable performance. And make the quantitatively evaluation about agricultural water footprint in 21 cities in Sichuan Province from 2001 to 2001. At the same time to explore the driving factors of agriculture water footprint in Sichuan province, the main results are as follows:(1)The research of measure the agricultural water footprint and analysis the dynamic of agricultural water footprint in various cities in Sichuan Province in nearly 11 years.①characteristics of agricultural water footprint. Based on calculate virtual water in agricultural production, virtual water consumption of agriculture, virtual water trade in agriculture, agricultural water footprint, to analyze the characteristic of agriculture water footprint,The analysis results show that:The overall trend of agricultural water footprint is increased in Sichuan Province from 2001 to 2011. Agricultural water footprint reaches the maximum value in 2011, which is 557.75×108 m, The minimum value is 452.13×10 m3in 2001. The per capita agricultural water footprint is increase, which between 535.92 m3 to 620.64 m3. The largest agricultural water footprint is Chengdu City, followed by Nanchong city and Dazhou city. The larger agricultural water footprint is Mianyang City, Ziyang City, Yibin city and Luzhou city. Agricultural water footprint smaller city (state) are:Aba City, Ganzi City, Panzhihua City and Ya’an City, which agricultural water footprint is less than 10×108 m3 in 2011.②Agricultural water dynamic characteristics. On the basis of agricultural water footprint measurement data, using image analysis method to explore the dynamic changes of agricultural water footprint, The results of the study show that:agricultural water footprint showed a trend of slow increase with every passing year in 11 years in sichuan province. The most obvious increase is chengdu, especially rise since 2008, the rest of the city (state) growth is small; per capita agricultural water footprint change trend is similar with the change trend of agricultural water footprint, which is a trend of increase. The gap of per capita agricultural water footprint in various cities in Sichuan Province is not obvious in 2001 and 2005, but the gap between 2008 and 2011 is increases.(2) The analysis and evaluation of sustainable utilization of agricultural water footprint in various cities in Sichuan Province in nearly 11 years.According to the agricultural water footprint theory, in water resource utilization evaluation index for reference, combined with the actual situation to improve the existing indicators, from four aspects to build sustainable use of agricultural water footprint evaluation system:Water footprint structure, efficiency, ecological security and sustainable performance. And make the quantitatively evaluation about agricultural water footprint in 21 cities in Sichuan Province from 2001 to 2001. The results showed that:①Sustainable features of agricultural water footprint dependence on imports of agricultural water resources is between 0.06% to 1.28%, Self-sufficiency rate is as high as more than 98%, the foreign dependence of agricultural water resources in sichuan province is very small, completely self-sufficient, Shows the strong sustainability features.②Sustainable features of agricultural water footprint efficiency indicators:the million tons of agricultural water footprint population density was significantly decreasing from 2001 to 2011, Agricultural water footprint land density showed a trend of slow increase of change, the foreign trade of virtual water is entire increase, shows the characteristic of sustainability gradually reduce.③Ecological safety of agricultural water footprint:agricultural water resources scarcity degree is higher in 2006,2009,2010 and 2011, which indicates that the security is gradually reduced. Chengdu City, Zigong City, Deyang City, Suining City, Neijiang City, Nanchong City, Meishan City, Yibin City, Guang’an city and Ziyang City’s scarcity degree is more than 100%,While Chengdu City’s agricultural water resources shortage is most serious, which is in more than 200% per year from 2005 to 2010.④ Sustainable performance of agricultural water footprint:Sustainable utilization of agricultural water resources, a good year is2004,2007 and 2008.Sustainable utilization of agricultural water resources in Guang’an city is the best state, which except for 2006 and 2009 did not show the trend of sustainable utilization, the rest of the year was the sustainable utilization. Sustainable utilization of agricultural water resources in the Panzhihua city is the worst, which only in 2005 was sustainable utilization.(3) The research of agricultural water footprint’s driving force and strategic analysis of the sustainable utilization of water resources.①Analysis the driving forces of agricultural water footprint. Using DPS data processing platform that is likely to affect the agriculture water footprint change four categories of factors, a total of 9 indicators on grey correlation analysis, the results showed that:obtains two key factors to influence on Sichuan’s agricultural water footprint, one is multiple cropping index, which correlation degree is 0.6433, the other one is total number of people, which correlation degree is 0.6325. Followed by the proportion of paddy field and reservoir volume and the floating population in sichuan province has a great influence on agricultural water footprint.②Analysis of water resources sustainable utilization strategy. Based on the results of agricultural water footprint in Sichuan province, in order to achieve the sustainable utilization of agricultural water resources. Put forward the strategy of sustainable utilization of agricultural water resources in Sichuan province from four aspects. First, change the strategy of water resources, moderate control virtual water output; Second, optimize the agricultural structure, control the scale of high water consumption industries; Third, the development of water-saving agriculture, strengthen the optimization allocation of water resources; Fourth, improve the public’s awareness of protection of water resources and water saving.
