Study On The Character Of Early Growth And Quick Development Of Dual-purpose Genic Male Sterile Rice

Dual-purpose genic male sterile rice Ke8S, Chuang5S are bred by the Rice Research Institute of Hunan Agricultural University, with the character of sterile stability and high combining ability, and have several rice potential hybrid combination taking part in regional trails already. Dual-purpose genic male sterile rice Y58S is bred by the National Hybrid Rice Research and Development Center, and have been several hybrid combination used in the production. This study used the dual-purpose genic male sterile rice Ke8S and Chuang5S as materials, Y58S as the blank, to study the dynamic changes of tillers and leaf age, morphological characteristics, content of hormones, rooting growth ability in the vegetative period, and photosynthetic, yield characters at the late developmental stage, The main results are summarized below.1. The character of early growth and quick tiller of Ke8S and Chuang5S is well than Y58S, which shows that the number of tillers, leaf age and the growth speed of tiller numbers and leaf age of Ke8S and Chuang5S are larger or faster than Y58S at the time of transplanting5days to30days later, the effective tillers of Ke8S and Chuang5S is11.83and11.32more than Y58S respectively, and Ke8S, Chuang5S reach each effective tillers4and6days in advance to Y58S separately.2. The strong character of early growth and quick tiller of dual-purpose genic male sterile rice Ke8S and Chuang5S is stronger than Y58S in the vegetative period, which the physiological basis is the number of green leaves increased fast and large, well developed root system, and dry matter accumulation large and fast.3. The contents of endogenous hormones IAA and the value balance of IAA with ABA, GA, ZR+Z are playing an important role in regulating the growth speed of Ke8S, Chuang5S and Y58S tillers, which shows that the higher of IAA contents and bigger combination value of IAA with ABA, GA, ZR+Z or both in increasing trend, the slower of Ke8S, Chuang5S and Y58S tillers growth speed. Otherwise, the speed of Ke8S, Chuang5S and Y58S tillers growth faster.4. The strong character of early growth and quick tiller of Dual-purpose genic male sterile rice Ke8S and Chuang5S in the vegetative period can improve the number of green leaves, the areas of top three leaves and leaf per plant, maintain high photosynthetic rate in the full heading time. And increase effective panicles, spikelets, sink sizes per plant, which lay a foundation in the yield increasing of propagation and hybrid seed production, reduce hybrid seed cost and improve farm revenue...
