Aiming at the problem that limestone mountainous region single technology can not solve the afforestation low survival rate and growth of shortage, this paper takes the hilly region of Shandong limestone in Xintai as the research object to analyze the effect of limestone mountain afforestation technology and the cost of the investment. The results show that: the choice of tree species with pepper, forsythia, Cotinus coggygria usually gets suitable growth, good condition, good water storage efficiency and high survival rate; while the choice of lodgepole pine, white wax gets bad growth,poor survival rate, and poor water storage efficiency; the nursery stock specifications and tree cover afforestation survival rate of 2-year-old seedling are the highest, with the biggest tree growth, the best water storage efficiency, and relatively low investment cost; planting density on 2M * 3M gets a better water storage efficiency and a lower investment cost; 40 cm * 40 cm * 30 cm size of planting and scale-hole soil preparation achieve the highest survival rate, the best water storage efficiency,while tree growth and investment cost perform moderately; So based on the above, one can draw a conclusion that the choice of Chinese prickly ash, forsythia, Cotinus coggygria in Xintai limestone mountain is the most suitable,by using 2m * 3M afforestation density, 2-year-old seedling, surface coverage measures for tree covering grass, soil preparation of specifications for 40 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm, and scale-hole soil preparation.
