With Science playing a more important role in global competence, our country focuses more attention on raising people’s scientific values. As one of the most important carriers of scientific knowledge and culture communication, Science and Educational TV Programs convey knowledge to the audience vividly and intuitively and they try to have the audience not only get the knowledge but enjoy the knowledge presenting. "Exploration-Discovery" column, which is called "geographical exploration and culture discovery in China", has a lot of influence in China at present. Although it has some drawbacks, its production and creative techniques are worth learning.This thesis is divided into five parts. The first part is introduction. The second part focus on the definition of science and educational TV programs as well as the role they play in the knowledge presenting. It also summarize the current situation of "Exploration-Discovery" column. The third part mainly analyzes different types of scientific knowledge in "Exploration-Discovery" column, including history, geography and culture in China. The fourth part is the detailed analyses of narrative features, such as narrative perspective, narrative structure, technique of expression, and the use of narrative discourse. Narrative story covers that the creation of the contemporary documentary tends to be an entertainment. The last part involves the analyses of the problems of scientific knowledge presentation existing in "Exploration-Discovery" column, and give some constructive suggestions on the development of our educational documentaries according to "Exploration-Discovery" column’s success.
