With the development of the economy, the living standards of the residents improve gradually. Large public activities are held so frequently that public safety has become a top priority which has drawn high attention from the government as well as the whole society. Due to the big events in the pedestrian density is very big, if there is no effective line of traffic organization scheme and pedestrian safety evacuation plan, there is a big security hidden danger. In different pedestrian traffic characteristics of evacuation channel structure research, considering the influence of the pedestrian traffic characteristics in different channel structure and the evacuation process, we established the pedestrian evacuation time model that could reflect the actual situation of large venues evacuation. This paper aims to establish an evacuation model, which is very highly precise, and suitable for engineering, through the study of pedestrian traffic characteristics. The model not only reflects pedestrian behavior in evacuation, but also provides reference for buildings’ safety evaluation as well as a reasonable basis for the design and layout.Take the stadium in Shaanxi province as an example, the stadium is divided into two parts, namely inside and outside of the court. For the inside of the court, namely the audience area; For the outside of the court, namely from the outlet of the check-in hall, the stair evacuation passageway, horizontal evacuation passageway evacuation structure to reach the whole process of municipal road. We have completed a series of experiments about pedestrian traffic characteristics. By analyzing the data and using the Origin 9.0 software, the relations among the 3 parameters are depicted and tested by means of the curve fit.Secondly, researching on the pedestrian safety evacuation model. Safety evacuation is the important strategy of pedestrian congestion control, we analyze the pedestrian safety evacuation problems about time. According to the pedestrian traffic characteristics, we established the pedestrian evacuation time model in different channel structure.We apply the proposed evacuation model to the stadium in Shaanxi province and analyze evacuation time in each structural units, calculate the total evacuation time by series-parallel system calculation formula. For the inside of the court, we take the Vissim simulation results as reference and comparing the calculation results of the model we established, the calculation of the model proposed in this paper is accurate. For the outside of the court, comparing the model calculation results and the measured results, we can draw a conclusion that the calculation of the model proposed in this paper is accurate.Finally, on the basis of pedestrian traffic characteristics research, improved ant colony algorithm is used to study the pedestrian route choice problem in the process of emergency evacuation. Taking shaanxi stadium as an example, using matlab simulation to determine the value of the parameter, and analyze the effects of the parameters for the simulation results. To 9 export as the starting point, we get the optimal path and the number of iterations from the starting point to seven exit respectively using matlab simulation. And the simulation results are analyzed deeply.
