The high temperature superconducting(HTS) tape is a kind of ideal material which is suitable to be employed in HTS electric machine. The HTS magnet is able to withstand a large scale current and creates a massive magnetic field in limited space because it presents zero resistance in direct current, so HTS electric machine owns the advantages like small volume, light weight and high efficiency It is sure that HTS electric machine will be adopted in various professional fields, such as marine electric propulsion and wind power generation. Because the critical current limits the magnetic flux in air gap, so it is necessary to increase the safe zone of magnet by magnet optimization basing on critical current anisotropy of magnet.The whole passage can be divided into five chapters. The first and second chapters illustrate the research background, development situation of HTS electric machine, theory basis of finite element analysis, magnetic field calculation and the anisotropic attribution of HTS tape in magnetic fields. HTS rotor and non iron-magnetic stator is selected from the accessible schemes.The main content of third chapter is about sensitivity analysis of magnet. After three dimensional model of HTS electric machine is accomplished by SOLIDWORKS, the sensitivity analysis of electric machine is carried out through the Magneto Static and Design exploration components in ANSYS WORKBENCH. According to result of sensitivity analysis, the parameter which has the greatest influence on distribution of magnetic field is selected as design variable.The magnet is optimized in fourth and fifth chapters. The modeling and magnetic field analysis program are written by APDL in ANSYS classic user interface. Taking the advantages of MATLAB in writing calculation program into consideration, Using MATLAB writes the optimization program based on genetic algorithm and calls ADPL program in batch mode to realize the shape optimization of magnet together.The result of optimization shows that the critical current and safe zone of optimized magnet has been promoted. This optimized approach can replace the manual optimization and be applied in the design of HTS electric machine and similar magnet.
