Thermal power plant site selection is an important work in electric power construction. It has a significant impact on the cost control and schedule of power plant construction, besides, it plays an important role in ensuring the safety and economic operation of power plant. In the increasingly severe environmental security of modern society, how to control the pollution of the human living environment in the site selection stage, so that the thermal power plant construction could be solved more economical and reasonable, safe and reliable.In this paper, analyzed the basic principle of thermal power plant site selection and the pollution of the surrounding environment. the thermal power plant’s environmental impact are incorporated into the theory of thermal power plant location, based on the basic principle of thermal power plant site selection and the pollution of the surrounding environment in this paper. The site selection process of thermal power plant is optimized and the thermal power plant site selection optimization model based on the environmental impact is put forward. The specific contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Analyzed the location theory of the preliminary feasibility study stage, the idea of regional pre selection was put forward, and alternative site selection evaluation index system was established. Evaluated the area established the power plant by using the G1 method and dynamic weighted comprehensive evaluation method,.(2)Combined atmospheric pollutant dispersion model, noise pollution diffusion model, environmental impact of water pollution, environmental impact of ecological pollution and the pollution characteristics of thermal power plant, the pollution model of thermal power plant was established, which is the basis of the environmental impact assessment of thermal power plant.(3)According to the environmental pollution of thermal power plant thermal power plant site selection model and influencing factors, the thermal power plant site selection index system was setted up based on the environmental impact. Using the combination form of the analytic hierarchy process with variable weight. The thermal power plant site selection optimization model was setted up based on the environmental impact.(4)Taking the site selection project of a thermal power plant as an example, the feasibility of the comprehensive evaluation model of pre regional selection model was verified.In this paper, firstly, the region selection model was realized by using the G1 method and dynamic weighting method. Secondly, on the basis of analysis of the environmental impact, the evaluation way of variable weight extension AHP was used to achieve comprehensive evaluation of thermal power plant site. The research has certained theoretical significance and practical on the site selection of thermal power plant.
