Rubber O ring has the expensive applicability, using in radial or axial static seal and lower pressure and velocity dynamic seal. Sealing failure will cause the equipment to leak and shutdown with failure. This increase the repair spending and even more cause a disaster. This thesis analysis the basis characteristic and studies how to calculate the contact pressure of the rubber o ring. Using Ansys software calculate the contact pressure, strain and stress nephogram. The Reynolds equation including density-pressure and viscosity-pressure equation is derived, and the friction equations in the condition of full film lubrication or dry friction is derived. Based on the contact pressure calculated by ansys software, the film distribution assumed and the finite difference method, solve the friction equation and obtain the relationship between the friction and the sealing pressure. The contact pressure distribution test experimental device including loading plant unit, test rig, feeding mechanism, water pump, needle valve and pressure sensor is developed. Using contact pressure distribution test experimental device test the contact pressure distribution of rubber o ring, study the relationship between the friction and the sealing pressure. The indirect measurement method of reciprocating friction is presented. The reciprocation dynamic seal performance test experimental device including load unit, test unit and driving unit is developed. Based on the Labview software the seal performance test system is developed. The design characteristic and anti-jamming method is studied. Using reciprocation dynamic seal performance test experimenta l device, studied the relationship between the friction and the sealing pressure.
